ORIGINAL APPEARANCE

Dedue is tall, broad, dark-skinned with white hair, and covered in scars, including several on his face. He is well put-together and dresses professionally and modestly, often with shirts buttoned all the way up with a high collar. He often wears heavy armour (until he becomes it via corruption).

Same build as his original form, but appears to be made almost entirely of polished steel. His face and the longer hair on top of his head are the exception to this, still flesh and actual hair. His jaw and the rest of his skull are metal. His joints are ball joints and his limbs fit together similarly to how armour would. There is a golden Duscur symbol embedded on his left pectoral, and also one embedded in his neck under his ear to look like an earring. His other pectoral has a lion embedded in gold. Inspired by warforged, inside him is a metal skeleton and leather that acts as "muscle", but his movement is powered by magic rather than typical biological processes.

Importantly for Dedue's character, he can taste and eat, but the food will provide no nutritional value- the magic will make it effectively disappear as soon as he swallows. His version of sleep is more like dormancy where he becomes extremely still, but he can be fully aware of his surroundings if he so chooses, for a marginal reduction in the effectiveness of the rest. The longer he is dormant, the harder it is to move when he comes out of it. ~~NSFW things TBD~~

August 2025: Small patches of metal form on his forearms and legs. A little irritating but easy enough to ignore. Desire to be given orders/tasks increases.

September 2025: Patches grow in size, spanning the length of the undersides of his forearms, and grow to partly cover the outer sides of his shoulders and legs. Where metal meets skin is inflamed and sore.

October 2025: The forced katalyth experiment done on him in captivity have significantly advanced his corruption. In close proximity to a large volume of katalyth for an extended period, the metal patches grew so quickly that the steel warped, becoming brittle and growing in "wrong", with many small holes and even teeth embedded in the metal. Some pieces grew over his joints, locking them in place and making him stiff.

November 2025: The mental effects of being in captivity lingered. His soul made his thoughts and movements slow and gave hima tendency to "shut down" and essentially disassociate rather than endure pain and stress. Jayce helped him with the worst of the physical issues caused by captivity. The metal patches grew to cover most of the outer parts of his arms and legs, and a portion of his chest.

December 2025: Arms, legs, feet, and hands begin to internally change now, with not just metal on the outside but leather and metal on the inside as well, which is painful in a deep aching sort of way. As he incorporates more metal into his diet, the warping from the experiments begins to heal itself, filling in holes with the consumed metals. There's still a couple of teeth in there, but what can you do. So, his mobility is improved, but his pain is increased from the rapid shift of flesh into other materials. His movements are slow and stiff not because he can't move, but because it hurts to. Metal covers more of his chest and up his neck. Starts experimenting with leather gloves so things won't slip out of his shiny hands.

January 2026: Spends part of this month dormant after the loss of Dimitri, and in that time, his corruption completes, overtaking his vital organs and turning them inert.

Job: Dedue is currently working on Tateyama farm and helping in Dorothea's greenhouse to provide food for the Augmented and Karterians. He is also working part time as a prep cook in some mid-scale restaurant in Gloria I have not bothered to name yet.
Housing: Dedue shares a small cozy 3-bedroom apartment in Gloria (north- near the parks) with Dimitri and Octavian. It has a balcony where he grows his own little garden.
